Bring:
Please bring your own plate, cup and napkin.
Join us for
an innovative, inspirational and fun Tu B'Shevat Seder.
As participants
arrive, we will be seated at tables of about 10 people. Each table
will have on it various fruits for the 4 parts of the Seder. The
Seder parts are:
1. Local: Apple juice, apples, dried peaches, raisins
2. Israel: Dates, figs, pomegranate
3. Exotic: Kiwi, coconut, dried papaya, bananas
4. Planting of Seeds: Soils, small cups and parsley seeds (will
be ready for Passover!)
The
Seder is broken into for sections, addressing different parts of
our world ecology and Jewish texts which remind us of our responsibilities
toward the earth. Each section has texts which require some explanation
and/or lend themselves to discussion. Each Haver Rabbi will select
one the texts and take 5 minutes to either teach about it or instigate
a discussion either for the whole group of for the tables to discus
separately. The event will be MCed by Rabbi Korngold, the Adventure
Rabbi.
Then, as a special
treat before we planting the parsley seeds, Rabbi Korngold will
recite the story of the Lorax by Dr. Suess.
