Imagine Friday night Shabbat Services on the summit of Flagstaff Mountain. Our 6 p.m. service is held at the Sunrise Amphitheater with panoramic views of the City of Boulder. Join us for an unforgettable Shabbat, surrounded by fragrant trees, red-rock, great company and song.

Then, at 7 p.m., join us for a picnic at the Stone Shelter picnic area, located just across the parking lot.

Bring your family and friends or come alone.

No hiking involved! All ages welcome. The song-filled service will be less than forty-five minutes.

Picnic Dinner:

After services, join us for a picnic dinner. Please bring your own picnic dinner and table cloth. No alcoholic beverages permitted. (Open Space regulations.)

What: Shabbat Service and Picnic Dinner

Dates: June 27, July 25, Aug 29, 2008

Time: 6 pm

Cost: Between facility renta,l insurance, staff, and advertising, this event costs over $1,000 to run. Please pitch in (suggested $10/ adult and $5/ child) at the door or Click here to pay in advance. Visa/MC accepted.

Volunteers: We need 3 volunteers to help greet, clean-up and make sure the evening goes smoothly. Click here to volunteer.

Directions
: Baseline Road west towards mountains. Drive past Chautauqua Park on your left. The road's name changes to Flagstaff Road. 3.4 miles up Flagstaff Road, to Realization Point, then right turn, 0.5 miles on Flagstaff Summit Road. It takes longer than you would expesct to get up there. Click here for a map.

Parking: Boulder residents whose cars are registered in Boulder do not need parking permits. If you are not registered in Boulder, there is a $3 parking permit fee. Fee may be paid as you turn onto Flagstaff Summit Road. Click here for details

Dogs: Must be on leashes, able to quietly sit through the service and play well with other dogs. For park regulations on dogs please click here.

Rain Policy: If it is pouring (as opposed to drizzling) at 6 p.m., we will cancel the service. However, in the past it has been pouring at 5:55 p.m. and stopped exactly at 6 p.m., just in time for us to have the service. Could it be true that we have a direct line to above? If in doubt, assume the service is on!
