Adult
Bat and Bat Mitzvah Class
Join us for a new adventure of spirit and mind. We will meet as
a class one Wednesday night a month from 6 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. December
through August, plus a B'nai Mitzvah service rehearsal in September.
We
will have a chance to really get to know each other as we engage
in some meaningful conversations about Judaism and our place in
it.
Although
many of our classes will be indoors, we will also take the opportunity
to walk and talk as we explore some of the beautiful trails of Boulder.
As
a class we will discuss topics such as:
- What
do all these prayers mean anyway and what do they have to do with
us?
- Who
are we praying to?
- How
do we make Shabbat meaningful
- The
meaning of your particular Torah portion
- Ethics
discussions, relating ancient texts to modern situations
Meanwhile,
you will study privately with a Hebrew tutor to master reading of
liturgy and Torah.
Each
student will also complete an independent study project on the topic
of their choice. These studies will enhance the group conversation.

Ceremony:
The group bar/ bat mitzvah ceremony will take place on the 2010
