Rabbi Korngold of Adventure Rabbi, Inc. Officiating
Allison and Jason, you wanted to be married here
amidst the awesome beauty of the mountains, not only because the wilderness
has been a focal point of your lives and is what ultimately brought
you together, but because the wilderness has been the teacher that
taught you the lessons of love.
From the top of mountain peaks, you gained perspective about your
place and responsibility in the world. From the uniqueness of a
snowflake, you learned to care for and respect others. From the
prairie grass, you learned that despite doubt, after brown of winter,
green spring does again return.
The wilderness has taught you that if you care for and love your
community, it will care for and love you.
Today we acknowledge, appreciate and celebrate your community.
And so as we begin our ceremony, I ask this gathering, your parents,
family and friends, to bless this marriage and pledge their continued
support for your marriage.
Community Vows
Do you the family and friends of Allison and Jason, grant them the
blessings of your heart, and do you vow to continue to be their
loving community, to be them when they need friends, with whom to
walk their journey, to listen, to laugh, to cry and to rejoice?
Will you do your best to be patient as the sun behind a cloud and
steadfast as the salmon returning home to spawn? If you do so, please
say, I will.
Closing Blessing
Allison and Jason, Jason and Allison, on behalf of your parents
and community, we bless you:
May your love be tenacious like the bright golden daisy that grows
in vacant crooks of rocks, and patiently waits for rain to fall.
May your love be flexible like a river, playful like the rapids,
restful like the eddies, and creative like a sculpting canyon river.
May your love be festive like a mountain meadow in summer, an unbridled
celebration of magenta paintbrush, scarlet foxfire and pink shooting
star.
May this be your blessing.
